We are pleased to announce the 4 recipients of the GameSheet Scorekeeper Scholarship. Congratulations to Claire Keough, Paul Marino, Riley Nanartowich and Chloe Malenfant. These are 4 amazing young men and women have given tirelessly to the game. We know they will excel in the coming years at their chosen Post Secondary Institutions and we are proud to be a small part of it.
Thank you to the many dozens of other well qualified applicants, it was a difficult task to narrow the field down. All of you are deserving and we wish you the best of luck this coming school year.
Claire Keough hails from Borden-Carleton on Prince Edward Island. She has been scorekeeping for 7 years and began using GameSheet in the 2019-2020 Season. She got started in scoring, by sitting with Dad in the booth during her younger brother’s games and quickly picked it up. Claire will be attending Holland College in Charlottetown in the Kinesiology program.
Paul Marino has been scoring hockey games for 5 years now and first used the GameSheet system in the fall of 2021 at the Boch Ice Centre in Massachusetts. Paul is a recent graduate from Westwood High School and is enrolled in Engineering at the University of New Hampshire.
Chloe Malenfant has been scoring hockey games for over 6 years now, and on average during the winter months would score a dozen games per week. Chloe is from Cochrane Ontario and will be attending Northern College in Hailleybury. When first introduced to the GameSheet scoring app, Chloe was a bit apprehensive, but quickly came to appreciate the ease and efficiency of using the system.
Riley Nanartowich began scoring in high school, when she was pressed into service as the team manager. This experience turned into scoring more than 10 games a week at the New England Sports Center in Massachussetts. When first introduced to scoring on GameSheet, Riley liked how simple it was and how it modelled the paper scoresheet. Riley is looking forward to attending Springfield College in September.
Once again, congratulations Riley, Chloe, Paul and Claire, and thank-you to the dozens of other applicants that applied.
