These remarkable young individuals have shown unwavering commitment and dedication to the game, and we have no doubt that they will shine in their future endeavours at their chosen Post-Secondary Institutions. We take great pride in being a part of their journey.
We would like to express our appreciation to the close to 100 well-qualified applicants; choosing the recipients was a difficult task. All of you were deserving and we wish you the best of luck this coming school year.
Jake Larson
Jake is a first-year hockey scorekeeper from Big Lake, Minnesota, got started in the role thanks to his mom’s encouragement. Throughout his scoring journey, he efficiently managed games for three leagues, often handling multiple matches per week. Jake especially enjoys the system’s user-friendly interface, making it a breeze for him to record and track shots during games. Jake will be attending the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities next year.
Bella Rodriguez
Bella is a skilled scorekeeper from Oshawa, Ontario, has five years of experience, managing many games per week. She has been using the GameSheet system since 2018. She takes pride in her role as a reliable timekeeper, even earning the nickname “The Bella’s” alongside her friend. Bella is enrolled at Dalhousie University in the Bachelor of Community Design Program.
Canon McCardle
Canon hails from St. Catharines, Ontario, and has been actively involved in scorekeeping for five years, managing around 5 or 6 games each week. The introduction of iPads and GameSheet significantly improved his scorekeeping experience, reducing stress and making the process smoother. Despite starting at the young age of 13, Canon’s passion for hockey and scorekeeping has grown, and he aspires to continue contributing to the game as both a player and timekeeper. Excited about his future, Canon is looking forward to studying Carpentry and Renovation at Niagara College.
Will Converse
Will is an experienced scorekeeper residing in North Attleboro, Massachusetts. The last few seasons he has been scoring for four leagues, managing an impressive workload of over six games per week at Rodman Arena. He appreciates GameSheet’s helpful prompts that ensure no information is missed during scoring but has encountered an issue with forgetting to change periods, resulting in data appearing only in the first period. Will is looking forward to pursuing a business program at Community College of Rhode Island in the coming year.
